Vintage Japanese Zohiko Kyoto Style Lacquerware Coffee Set & Tray

Offered for sale is this fine Japanese, Zohiko lacquerware coffee set. Zohiko are renowned for producing high quality products and a store still operates in Kyoto today. This charming set dates from the middle to late 20. Century and features a tray, 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 gilt coloured teaspoons, a sugar bowl with lid, coffee pot and milk/cream jug. Constructed from wood with a gloss black lacquered finish and gold coloured detailing. Zohiko marks are present throughout. The milk/cream jug has a slight crack and the handle has been glued back on at some point.

However, the damage is not immediately obvious. Otherwise, with the exception of a few very minor marks and nibbles, the set is in good condition; appears to have been unused.
