Insulated Cover Tea & Coffee Set. Dimensions are approximately: Teapot height to top of spout: (excludes lid) 10cms (4" ins) Teapot length handle to spout: 21cms (8 1/4" ins) Coffee Pot height to top of spout: (excludes lid) 16cms (6 1/4" ins) Coffee Pot length handle to spout: 20cms (8" ins) Sugar height to top of handle: 6cms (2 3/8" ins) Sugar length handle to handle: 13cms (5" ins) Creamer height to spout: 6.5cms (2 1/2" ins) Creamer length handle to spout: 11.5cms (4 1/2" ins) Teapot & Coffee Pot capacity is approx 4 cups... Rare to find a 4 piece set... This fantastic retro set consists of Teapot, Coffee Pot, Sugar and Creamer. Each item in the set is covered in a lightweight aluminium cover in bright orange. The removable cosy covers on the tea and coffee pots are fully insulated with felt to retain the heat and keep those hot drinks warm. All the tea wares are in a utilitarian white ceramic.

The Tea and Coffee Pots have original lids. The sugar and creamer were not manufactured with lids and do not require insulation in their covers. All cosy covers are topped with a teak knob.

As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... Pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up. The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time. Generally good vintage condition commensurate for age and use.

No scratches or discolouration to the covers may be an occasional rub mark. No chips or fractures to the ceramic pieces (except the teapot). The teapot cover has a small dent on the top between the knob and the handle.

The teapot has allover mild crazing but no discolouration, ditto the creamer and sugar. The main damage is a clean repair to the teapot handle which you can clearly see in photos. The coffee pot cover has a very small dent (a horizontal line approx 1/2cm across) about 1/3 way down, hardly noticeable. A teeny fleabite to the coffee pot and teapot spout. Its rare to see these ceramic items without crazing and all of these pieces do have that in varying degrees....

All items are clean inside. The teak knobs are all attached and in good condition not showing any wear. All the cosy covers fit perfectly and are clean inside. A great retro tea set and an excellent collectors item...

In the long held British tradition of tea drinking, who else would think up this innovative way to keep your cuppa warm... Insulated tea sets were very popular in the late 1940's/50s' and production increased of these very useful tea sets after World War II... Some well known British brands were Everhot, Heatmaster and Kosy Kraft.... Even egg cups were made with insulated covers! Generally the covers were polished chrome/aluminium.

More deluxe versions had polished copper covers rather than the more affordable aluminium. The teapots and tablewares were usually utilitarian ceramic and white in colour, although some companies offered colour choices, the most popular being pink or blue...

And created additional shapes such as'beehive'. After World War II competition increased on the home turf with exports from Japan who produced very good quality tea sets. These were generally coloured in vibrant yellow or orange'pop' colours as opposed the more UK traditional colours and styles. Please view the photos carefully as they form part of the description.
