In 1875 Ezaiemon Fukagawa started to produce porcelain for export to the west. He named his company Koransha which means The Company of the Scented Orchid. Famous Fukagawa artists are Kinsaku Ide and Tosui Ninomiya whose pieces were exhibited in the International Exposition in Paris in 1900.
