This is a gorgeous Coffee/Tea Set for 12 (twelve) from Royal Doulton, Made in England. This pattern has been discontinued, it was an old, almost antique pattern, originally manufactured in 1938 and 1939, according to the numbers 12 and 13 besides the mark. This pattern perfectly reflects the time when it was produced: the Great Depression was over and the Second World War wasn't started yet. People looked more into luxury and pleasures of life. This set is part of service for 24, that was given as a wedding gift to young girl in England. For almost 80 years these pieces have been with the family. They survived a World War, the Nazi bombing, long journey through Atlantic, poor and exhausting years in new country, many careless hands. The set have been part of many happy moments. The pattern has gold accented edge and gold leaves circle set on cream background. Even today the set is very stylish and beautiful. 12 (twelve) Coffee/Tea Cups - 3 3/4" at the rim and 2 1/4" tall. 12 (twelve) Saucers for the cups - 6 in diameter. The set is very rare and just beautiful. It will make a wonderful gift or will be a great addition to any vintage china collection. You are letting so many beautiful moments in your home. The set is in good used vintage condition with no cracks, or crazing.

There is very minimal wear on the gold details. Actual color may differ from the photo due to lighting conditions. It is very hard to get the pale cream color on this set on the pictures.

Doulton products also came to the attention of the Royal family. For almost 200 years, The Royal Doulton Company has specialized in fine bone china and porcelain for the table and collectibles.

Royal Doulton, as evidenced by the name, enjoys the distinction of a "Royal Warrant". A Royal Warrant is bestowed upon people or companies who have regularly supplied members of the Royal Family with goods or services.

It is regarded as a mark of supreme excellence and quality. King Edward awarded the first of five Royal Warrants to Royal Doulton in 1901. The Doulton Company then became The Royal Doulton Company.
