Sterling Silver Four Piece Tea and Coffee Service - Art Deco Style - Vintage (1942). A fine and impressive vintage George VI English sterling silver four piece tea and coffee service in the Art Deco style; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This fine vintage George VI sterling silver four piece tea and coffee service/set consists of a coffee jug, teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl. The pieces of this tea and coffee service have a plain rectangular rounded form onto a collet frame with integrated bracket style feet, all in the iconic Art Deco style. The surface of each piece is plain and embellished with an applied interlacing and bead decorated border to the upper portion. The coffee jug and teapot are fitted with plain flush hinged hallmarked covers; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this service. Each cover is surmounted with the original iconic Art Deco style carved wood and silver finial, securing to the interior with a wing nut.

The teapot and coffee jug retain the original fine and impressive angular C shaped carved wood handles, all in the iconic Art Deco style; each handle has wear in keeping with age, to a naturally mellowed appearance. The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with C shaped sterling silver handles incorporating stepped thumbpieces.

The impressive teapot is fitted with a plain swan necked spout embellished with stepped decoration to the lower portion in the Art Deco style. This vintage coffee and tea service is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. The service has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The applied decoration is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each piece and part hallmarks to the interior of the teapot and coffee jug covers are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these impressive examples of vintage teaware. Length from back of handle to tip of spout 20.8cm/8.2.
