Susie Cooper Coffee Set for 6. Dimensions are approximately: Saucer diameter: 14cms (5 1/2" ins) Cup diameter excluding handle: 6.5cms (2 1/2" ins) Cup height excluding handle: 6.5cms (2 1/2 ins) This retro coffee set was produced by respected English designer Susie Cooper. The set is decorated with the charming Orchid floral pattern in green and white. The coffee cup and saucer are decorated with a large Orchid bloom and gold polka dots. Further embellished with gold trims to the cup, handle and saucer.

The coffee cups have a lovely green interior. The innovative coffee'can' cup shape was designed by Susie in 1958. As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... Pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up.

The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time. Condition: This 12 piece set is in excellent vintage condition commensurate for age and use. No chips, fractures, crazing or discolouration.

One cup has a teeny black spot to the interior. She was born in England 1902 and pursued a career as a designer, setting a trend in'designer labels' as early as the 1930's by producing modernist designs in bold hand painted colours. She worked with various china companies including Wedgwood, situated in the Staffordshire area and produced an immense range of wares over the years.
