Rare Vintage Retro Mid Century MCM Iconic 1960s 70s Stylish CARLTON WARE Coffee Set 15 pieces (complete). The set includes a tall coffee pot, a milk jug, an open sugar bowl, and 6 cups with 6 saucers. Features a distinctive rich chocolatey brown mate glaze with an amazing geometric style pattern, often referred to as "Gold Six" or a "Brown Geometric pattern" Decorative pattern embossed in the matt brown chocolate on the edge of the saucers and the coffee pot. The design has a streamlined, "space age" shape with ergonomically correct handles. The coffee pot handle is an oval, sitting pretty on the hip of the pot, and the spout is beautifully shaped. The cups handles are also oval, and the cups, jug and bowl are shapely and stylish. This design melds the modern and traditional, the shapes and techniques are out there and futuristic, and the geometric patterns have an ancient decorative tile feel.
