The overlay feels like an Art Deco interpretation of the Aesthetic style with its sweetly elegant bird and lattice vegetation pattern. The pieces in this set are marked on the underside. The set consists the following. The coffee pot measures approximately 10 ½ tall (1).
The creamer is 5 ¼ tall (1). The lidded sugar bowl is slightly over 4 ¾ tall. The cups measure 3 ¾" in diameter and 2" tall (6). The saucers are 5 ¾ in diameter (6). The plates are 6 ¾ across. The set is in excellent remarkable condition with no damage such as cracks, hairlines or chips. I dont see any use related marks or wear. Silver needs better polishing/cleaning in a few spots, no damage or wear to the silver but a few darker areas. The factory Hertel Jacob was established in 1906 by business partners Jacob and Schödl.After a few years Schödl reduced his interest in the factory and Jacob had to look for a new partner. He found Hertel who got involved in management. Consequently renamed to Porzellanfabrik Hertel, Jacob & Co.
And restructured in 1913 factory became famous. Their workmanship was said to be comparable to Rosenthal of Bavaria.
