Branksome China Coffee Service Vintage, Twintone 15 pieces+lids, mid 20th C

  

Branksome China Coffee Service, lovely deep burgundy or plum colour twin tone with grey. This pottery is renowned for being hard wearing. It may be a composite service in that the makers marks are exactly the same but the letters differ, cups 3 xA and 3xK, saucers all A, open sugar bowl A, left hand pot KA, right hand pot KE. To me the left hand pot looks a slightly less deep shiny colour than everything else.

Only just noticed for photographing in good light and having a good look at the marks after 25 years! Nice to have 6 cups and saucers and the pots to go with them, except no milk jug. Useful as Branksome renowned for being practical through its toughness.
