A beautifully curated tea set for one - everything needed to turn a quiet cup of tea or coffee into a small personal ritual. The set combines vintage English Royal Grafton fine bone china with a contemporary William Morris Pimpernel serving tray. The soft blush-pink porcelain, delicate grey botanical decoration and ornate gold gilding complement the muted flowers and foliage of the iconic William Morris pattern beautifully. The cup is a versatile tea and coffee shape and is accompanied by its matching saucer and tea plate. The set also includes a milk jug and a traditional slop bowl - originally used at the tea table for discarded tea leaves or the remains of cold tea.

Today, the slop bowl could also be used for wrapped sweets, sugar packets or spent tea bags. The Royal Grafton china was made in England and dates approximately from the late 1950s-1960s.

It bears the Royal Grafton Fine Bone China backstamp and the hand-applied pattern number. Jones & Sons at the Grafton Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, this particular design is now increasingly difficult to find as a matching group. The contemporary tray features William Morris's celebrated. Produced by The Leonardo Collection in 2022, its dusky pink, sage, ivory and charcoal palette brings all the vintage pieces together into a complete and ready-to-enjoy setting. Please note that this is a personally curated combination rather than an original factory-assembled set.

1 Royal Grafton tea or coffee cup. 1 William Morris Pimpernel tray. The china is in very good vintage condition, with no cracks, crazing or other chips. The milk jug has one very small chip to its gilded foot, clearly shown in the photographs.

It is discreet when displayed and does not affect the stability or use of the jug. It has deliberately been left unrestored to preserve the authenticity of the piece. There may be light age-related wear to the gold decoration, consistent with vintage use. The tray is in excellent condition.
