Vintage Royal Irish Silver Co 4pc Strl Slv Dairymaid Tea and Coffee Set #6742

Vintage sterling silver 4 piece coffee and tea set in the Dairymaid pattern from Royal Irish Silver Co, circa 1968. The 4 pieces of this beautiful set include a tall coffee pot, a shorter tea pot, an open creamer and a sugar bowl. The chased and repousse design depicts scenes from a dairy farm, including a farmhouse, trees, a cow and a dairymaid. Also features flower details and ornate leafy handles.

There is a swan finial on the lids of the coffee and the tea pots. All pieces have twist legs, paw feet and lion face knuckles. There is a round framed cartouche on the sugar bowl where it can be monogrammed. The coffee pot measures approx. 7" high to top of finial, 5 3/8" high to the top of the pot, 8 1/2" wide from spout to handle, 2 3/8" diameter at opening, 4 1/2 diameter of the pot. The tea pot measures approx 5 1/2" high to top of finial, 4" high to the top of the pot, 9 3/4" wide from spout to handle, 2 3/4" diameter at opening, 5 1/2 diameter of the pot. The open creamer measures approx 3 1/2" high at highest point at spout, 3" high on the non-spouted side, 5 1/2" wide spout to handle, 3" wide opening. The sugar bowl measures approx 2 1/2" high, 5" diameter opening. The coffee pot weighs 508dwt/790g/25.4toz.

The tea pot weighs 520.3dwt/809.1g/26toz. The open creamer weighs 115dwt/178.8g/5.8toz. The sugar bowl weighs 152.8dwt/237.6g/7.6toz.

All pieces together weigh 1,296.1dwt/2015.6g/64.8toz. All pieces are fully hallmarked.

Marked RISL -the makers mark for Royal Irish Silver Co, a crowned harp -silver standard for sterling silver, Hibernia -City of Dublin mark, a date mark for 1968. The date mark on the coffee pot is worn. Very nice condition with some tarnish and surface scratching on all pieces.
