Vintage Augarten Wien Vienna White Porcelain Coffee Pot Set. With Cups & Bread & Butter Plates.

Offering a rare and stunning white porcelain coffee pot, 2 cups, 4 bread & butter plates and an open sugar by Augarten, Wien (Vienna) Austria. Pattern has a lovely ridged trim with rings.

Bottoms are all stamped with the blue Augarten beehive and WIEN. The Viennese Porcelain Manufactory, the second oldest in Europe, was founded in 1718. The white gold from Vienna has been lovingly moulded and shaped, glazed and painted by hand ever since; every single item of finest Augarten porcelain is just unique now as it was then. Augarten is a historical company founded in the early 18th century in Vienna, Austria. Their headquarters have been located in Augarten Castle since 1923 and is one of only 4 companies in the world still carrying the tradition of free hand-painting porcelain.

The company was state owned until recently. Coffee pot measures 6 ½ high to top of the finial (5 ¼ high without the lid) and holds 16 ounces.

Cups measure 2 ¼ high x 3 ¼ in diameter. Open bowl measures 2 ½ high x 3 ½ in diameter. Plates measure 5 3/8 in diameter. All pieces are in very good condition however please note the following. There is a small chip on the top ridged rim as shown.

There is slight discoloration on one cup. There are 2 small chips on the top ridged rim that blend in as shown. Plates: mild scratching from age and use. A wonderful set for any collector of Augarten Porcelain!
