Rare classic vintage Prinknash Abbey Pottery coffee cups and saucer set of four

  

Very rare vintage classic mid century modern cup and saucer set of four. Beautiful blue floral pattern, gilded interior.

Saucers have a circle of smaller blue flowers and are also decorated with the gold. Belonged to my mother who bought this directly from the local Abbey. Minor surface wear on two of the cups as seen.

Please see photos with ruler for size. The Prinknash Abbey Pottery was founded in 1942 by the monks when they found a seamless of clay during building work.

Their work is typically red earthenware, often with a metallic glaze. The Benedictine monks continued to make pottery until 1997. This set is beautiful and extremely hard to find. Perfect as a gift or to add to your collection.
